I don't believe this!!
An adviser to Malayisan Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has declared that Malaysian Muslim men can divorce their wives via SMS.
"SMS is just another form of writing," the daily quoted Hamid as saying, following an Islamic court decision Thursday that ruled in favor of a man who served divorce on his wife using SMS.

I wonder why Rediff's main page still shows an ad that asks the readers to preorder a copy of The Order of the Phoenix?!!
Someone's not doing their job, obviously!!

Are they serious?!
After a glorious return to their Metal roots in St. Anger, Metallica seem to have gone bonkers. They're suing a Canadian band Unfaith over what they feel is unsanctioned usage of two chords the band has been using since 1982 : E and F.
Please tell me that they're joking!!
Ulrich states that he's not trying to prevent Unfaith from using the two chords, only that he feels Metallica should be credited for them whenever used, and is calling for 50% of all revenue generated from any song using them.Yeah, right!! Now my friend who's been using the F word at least twice in every sentence he utters will go to court and sue everyone in the world coz we've grown to associate that word with that friend!! :-|
"It's nothing personal against them," he added. "We intend to enforce our rights with any band intending to use Metallica-branded chords in the future."

Delusions of grandeur
The new chairman of APHC, Moulvi Abbas Ansari says "it would be below my dignity" to meet and talk to Centre's interlocutor N N Vohra.
He's just taken over as the APHC chief and already Ansari seems to have been afflicted by delusions of false grandeur!
Another thing that he says in his telephonic interview with Rediff is...
The war in Iraq had changed a lot of things and it was important to resolve outstanding matters through talks, according to him. "We have realised that the matters cannot be solved through the barrel of the gun."Hmmm... interesting!!

Foreign no longer
The bunch of posers who call themselves the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) have decided that their party is willing to reconsider its stand on the thorny issue of the foreign origins of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. These, incidentally, were the same bunch who broke away from the Congress and formed a separate party for themselves over the issue of Sonia Gandhi being of foreign origin.
It seems the high horse they were riding earlier has now bolted.

Err... come again please!
Ari Fleischer says, "I think the burden is on those people who think he didn't have weapons of mass destruction to tell the world where they are." [NYTimes registration required.]
Uhh... excuse me while I double up in laughter!
